We read employers’ careers sites every day, not aggregators. We track 466,971 open postings in total, 191,815 of them in Europe: the statistics below are computed on those only. Updated 9 September 2026.
Only 4 in 100 European postings mention a salary. On the rest you find out at the interview, or never. (4.2% of the total)
One European posting in ten has been open for more than 362 days. They are almost certainly not hiring any more.
Half of the postings have been online for less than 49 days.
13,942 open postings had already been published and closed at least twice in the last six months.
Among the 103,037 European postings that state the type of engagement: 4,096 internships, 9,327 fixed-term, 6,126 part-time. Same caveat: only some ATS expose the field.
At least 19,516 European postings are declared fully remote. This is a floor: most ads do not state the work mode.
The same question ("what does it pay?") gets very different answers depending on where the role is open. Share of open postings stating a salary, out of every posting we monitor in that country.
We count the company career sites we read, not a country's whole market: which employers we monitor varies by country, and the comparison should be read with that in mind. We take no position on why these gaps exist: the data says how much, not why.
The most frequent cities among the 171,798 European postings whose ad names a city (out of 191,815). The rest name only the country, or nothing.
We read employers’ careers sites and ATS directly, not aggregators: postings come from the source. For every role we keep the history of openings and closings, so a repost is recognised even when its identifier changes. A posting’s age starts from the date it states; where there is none, from the day we first saw it.
No sector breakdowns: the field is filled in for a minority of companies and the most populated sectors consist of a handful of companies each. They would be real numbers on a sample that represents nothing. We would rather publish less and have it hold. And no percentages for hybrid or on-site: that field is missing on most ads, so we only give the fully-remote floor.
Faro compares every posting with your CV and tells you which ones don’t add up, before you waste time on them.
